Ok, so here's an update about the events from Sunday until yesterday. Be warned, this is a bit of a long post.
One + Three = 470,000,000 ISK
On Sunday I started scanning in Eglenaert as that was where fellow ninja Ullus was. I scanned some guys down some guys and finally ended up going to a Megathron. It was nothing special and I don't remember much of the details. All I know was that he shot me, I pointed him and then he stopped shooting me. When in doubt, keep doing the mission, amiright?
Anyway, I swapped smoothly over to the Legion and pew pew'd this guy into space poop, but not before getting a nice fat 120 million ISK donation to provide for a new worm from the day before.
So Eg was drying up and Ullus and I made the executive decision to move over to neighboring Agrallalier. Boy do I love this system. My first scan, the very first, was of a Machariel, Rattlesnake and Apocalypse Navy Issue. What? I warp in. Its a two room mission and I quickly to the jump gate. All three missioners were there but there mission was over. Slightly sadface.
I steal anyway and look at the three there. I test the "auto-lock" feature of all three. The Machariel and the Rattlesnake were both relatively experienced players and had the feature off. The Apoc didn't but he didn't do anything for a good bit. Then the Rattlesnake and Machariel started to warp off. I was rather sad at this point and was about to warp off when I hear "PEW PEW PEW" from the lazors of the Apocalypse Navy.
Hurray! Auto-Lock wins again :)
Point, orbit at 20km and start pewing his two T1 Valkyries he was using during a Serpentis mission. Suddenly I understood why he shot me. I decided Ullus would be a good asset in his Scimitar and called him in so he could hopefully whore in on this guy because he was seemingly an idiot. The guy still had me red boxed so I couldn't Orca swap but I decided to warp it in anyway. As the Orca entered warp, Ullus tells me that we have company. The Rattlesnake (same corp as the apoc) has decided to come back.
SCORE! The Rattlesnake decides to shoot Ullus in his scimitar and the Apoc follows suit. Ullus points the rattler with his scimi and tries to evade. This is my opportunity. As Ullus starts to lose shield I swap to my legion and point the Apoc (the rattle was not yet red to me). As I do so I convo the Apoc and demand 800 mil for both of them. He shouts at me in German (i got the hint as he said no right away). I close convo and procede to hammer on the Apoc.
He wasn't melting that quickly. At this point, the Rattler realizes I'm now in a Legion and decides to shoot me. Then Ullus swaps to his Hurricane and starts to shoot the rattler. The Rattlesnake is not going down fast enough, nor is the Apoc. Since both are pointed and not moving I tell Ullus to shoot the Apoc, we'll negotiate with the Rattlesnake. Our combined DPS starts to crush the Apoc as the third Mission Runner shows up in a Daredevil. I was a bit sad as I was hoping for the Machariel.
Things get a little hairy at this point, though the MR's make a few big mistakes. First of all, they don't focus fire. While I AM taking damage from the Apocalypse and the Rattlesnake, the daredevil shoots Ullus first. Then he points me and I start taking a bit more damage as he orbits me at 2km and hurts me with blasters. This is the opposite of what you want to do: spread aggro.
The second mistake by the MR's, or MR in this case has already been done. Let's take stock of things. I have a Rattler at approx. 10km sitting still with 5 Hornet II's on me, I have an Apocalypse Navy about to pop right in front of me, and I have a Daredevil hitting me with everything he has at 2km orbiting at a speed of 1500 m/s. Oh, and Ullus Demos is right on top of the Apocalypse Navy Issue next to me. He also has aggro on all three, with the Rattler pointed. I have the Apoc pointed. See the guy who's next primary?
The Apocalypse pops in a beautiful ball of fire. I quickly switch point, web and neut to the daredevil. Ullus puts HIS web and nuets on the Daredevil. With no cap and no speed, the Daredevil cannot escape. We quickly melt him into oblivion. Then we talk to the Rattlesnake who must, by this time, realize he is doomed. We managed to extract 500 million ISK in empty promises from the Rattlesnake before he goes boom as well.
All Told, 1.6 Billion ISK Destroyed with a payout of 350 million ISK each for Ullus and I. Not bad, considering I had only been on for about an hour.
The Trade
The next story I have is from Monday and it is not so happy. So I warped to a Dominix Navy Issue. He didn't want to play with me until I stole his mission objective. This made him mad. Really quite mad in fact, as he sent his flight of Ogre II's after me.
I was thinking something along the lines of "LOL! Ogre II's! Come at me bro!" at this point. But surprisingly, I couldn't kill them very quickly OR tank them very well. I managed to put one into low armor before he recalled them and then deployed ECM Vespas. I got a little nervous and started to kill them and they never managed to get a jam cycle on me. I was trying desperately to get reps into my fleet at this point and failed to invite the Orca pilot of our new CEO Zav so that he could swap to his scimitar. Derp.
After killing his Vespa-EC500's (Item check?) the DNI decided to deploy more Ogre II's. Oh damn. I was at 2% shield when Zav was in warp and 40% structure when he arrived. The Jaguar blew up in a ball of fire before I could get reps on me.
Now I was pissed. I had derped and I knew it. I had seen the general direction the MR had gone and decided to give chase. I swapped to my Legion and warped to the Dodixie Gate in Agra. To my surprise (and surprisingly good fortune), he was there. As I landed, I stared at him for maybe 5 seconds, waiting to see what he would do. That was when he jumped. I jumped too and caught him as he was halfway to warp. He started to burn back to gate but I put the hurt on him. When he was 10km away from the gate he launched Hammerhead II's and tried to put the hurt on me! This was his final mistake. He was aggressed now and I decided to just kill him rather than ransom, it was too much of a pain in my ass and I did not want this guy to live. He died to my glorious retribution in the form of my legion. Revenge is sweet.
The Failure:
Ok, so the next day was a cross country meet and I couldn't play EVE. However, the day afterwards (Wednesday) I did get to play. I managed to track down a really n00by Megathron who decided to shoot me right off the bat. It would have gone really smoothly except for the fact that when I launched my legion to board it, I left cargo in the bay and my BRAND NEW Jaguar was not able to be scooped.
F*%K! Depserately click board ship and I finally manage to as it enters low shield (I had rat aggro on top of fail MR aggro). Eject cargo, desperately click board Legion. But I failed. It was the session change timer (in addition to my own stupidity) that screwed me over. Fortunately, I managed to swap to the Legion just as the Jaguar exploded, so I skipped a second session change. I then proceeded to a rather lengthy exchange with the Megathron that landed me a net of 40 million ISK after the Jaguar's loss.
He brought some friends in right as he died but they all pussy'd out and left us alone. That brings us up to date, I will ninja later and hopefully have more stories to tell!
Until later, here are the tears,
Hianmar, a.k.a. TheEVEGamer

I win at EVE
First, I must make a comment on the recent updates that have been deployed on TQ. It should be noted that CCP has decided that our "Hot-Swapping" with Orcas is an exploit and has fixed it. You can no longer swap ships while under fire from any entity in game (Player, Rat, Drone, etc.). CCP has also decided that ship icons will only show up when a scanning hit is at 25% or higher.
This has not phased us. As if to say "Fuck You CCP!" TEARS alliance has destroyed or captured well over 20 Billion ISK worth of BPO's, Mission Runner ships and AFK idiots. We win at EVE.
Now as to why I win at EVE. I have been sort of away from EVE for the last 20 days or so. I log into check my accounts, but as far as playing I haven't done much of anything. Why? I got a new PC (It came!) and it came with some new games. I've been trying them out. So yesterday when I started to Ninja I surprised myself at getting 5 or 6 kills in the space of about 24 hours. This includes a Rattlesnake, a Iteron Mark V, Myrmidon, Vexor and an Abbadon.
The rattlesnake was my first big kill and it was solo (woot!). The Vexor was some douche-bag who hunts ninjas and decided to loot my can. The Iteron was an idiot who looted from a can of ours in the belt. The Myrmidon was my first kill of the month as he shot me mid-mission. I also managed to social engineer a Brutix to shoot me but he ejected. I'll get to the Abbadon in a minute.
I was sad after the Rattlesnake kill. I warped to a double MR mission with a Domi Navy and a Maelstrom in my Worm. They were in world's collide and when I looted their mission objective the DNI boxed me. I got excited and pretended to mind my own business as his Mael friend went and looked in the can. But that's when I screwed up. I slowed down and lost transversal with the Domi and also at the same time picked up full room aggro as I orbited a wreck I was salvaging. Derp. I had 25% shield when the Domi turned his 5 guard II's on me. Let's just say I barely got my transversal up as I hit 50% structure. There were a lot of alarms going off. I pointed the Domi Navy and tried to recover shield. The Garde II's started to fail to hit me and my shields recovered.
I had hope then. My shields were now at 20% and I was taking little damage.
Unfortunately, this Domi Navy was smart. He pulled his Garde II's and popped Hobgoblins. Sadface, I melted in about a minute as I tried to align out but failed to warp in time. The worm died admirably.
So I was pissed and rage went AFK. It was a while till I came back.
I was still pissed until I went to the Abbadon that would be my last kill of the night. Here is a story of epicness.
I got a scan for an Abbadon last night and went and bugged the guy for a bit. He was two months old and had T1 Valkyries out during a Sansha mission, I was hopeful that he would shoot. But alas, all this noobiness seemed in vain. He didn't even shoot me for helping him to collect bounties as he could not kill the rats.
Then I flipped his mission objective, a group of 50 prisoners, from his can into mine. He kept burning at it, slowly, until he was right on top of it and then the can disappeared. He goes red, I point, orbit at 20km and mention the fact in fleet chat (I was on the phone as this happened) and then a minute or so later shout in mumble.
The five of us who were there (Me, Waags, Ullus, Vipah and Zav) were dicking around and generally trying to get as much lol out of this guy as we could. We swapped to frigates and ransomed him for a total of 120 million ISK, which was cool for a n00by Abbadon. When he refused point blank to pay more, we popped him.
That's when Zav kinda freaked out, scooped loot and said something about “warping to station right away with a ton of shinies” and “you're not going to believe this”. I don't think any of us believed it at first. But there it was, 3.8 billion ISK destroyed to top the kill boards for the night.
I win at EVE.

Line 'Em Up, Knock 'Em Down!
Yesterday was a great day to be a ninja!
I logged on in Tintoh yesterday with little expectations for my chances of getting shot. I started scanning and got a few battleship hits, so I scanned down the one that was already pretty much done for and and it was a Raven.
So I swapped to the Worm and went to visit the Raven in his Sansha mission, a single room mission with lots of rats. He was not pleased to see me and since he only had aggro from 1/4 of the rats he engaged. What ensued was the most intense Ninja v. Bear pvp I've ever had the pleasure to take part in! He had about 3 flights of 5 tech II drones and my worm had picked up aggro from the remaining 3/4 of the rats. That said, I still managed pop most of the first flight of drones until he recalled them. Then he stopped shooting me, which was suspicious. I was sure he was locking up my drones!
Sure enough, a few moments later he popped drones again and one of my Warrior II's went into structure. Oh No! I did the same trick to him, except my locking time was 2 seconds rather than a minute. He and I did this for a while but then I noticed his tank was breaking to the rats. So I decided to help them! Web, Rockets and 5 Warrior II's was apparently the DPS needed to break him. He died in a brilliant ball of fire! Silly Carebear =D
Well, he apparently hadn't had enough of a beating (I think he was more mad that he died to a frigate) and decided to come back! I had to warp out after trying to loot the wreck cause I now had full aggro from all the rats and when I stopped moving, I went into armor! Oh NO! I swapped to the jaguar and returned to the mission. I warped the Orca to the gate of his mission at the same time for whatever my reasons were. Oh yeah, I had warped it in so as to swap to the Legion to kill the Raven, but I didn't want to bring in the Orca yet. So the Orca's sitting on the warp gate, I'm in a jaguar in the mission looting his Raven wreck when all of a sudden he's back, in a Drake!
My ninja senses were tingling that this guy was probably web fit to catch me and since there was no need to burn right at him yet I simply orbitted at 22km and pointed him while I warped in the Orca. I knew there was going to be trouble so I asked for reps in a ninja chat channel where I knew there was at least one active ninja in system with me. He kindly warped in to rep my jaguar as I burned towards the drake to swap. When the Orca was 8km out, I swapped to the legion (the drake had stopped moving, but he was originally going faster than my Orca at approx. 385 m/s) and pointed him. I started to orbit the Orca who was set on approach to the drake. This was fine for me as I had the drake webbed as well. The drake melted and refused a ransom for a second time. So I finished him off and stole more loot! Hurray! (Note how I was right about webs... he really wanted me dead!) Two kills in about 20 minutes!
About a minute into scanning for new guys to kill there came a shout in the same ninja chat from the same guy who had repped me that he needed reps! Well shit, he helped me I might as well help him! He had been about to warp to the guys mission when a corpmate had pinned him down on bottom station and then 4 more corpies had warped in. So I warped the Orca and my Basilisk in so as to get red and sure enough, a Tengu boxes me and a Raven goes red right off. I wait till I'm in low shield to see if the Tengu engages but decided to swap before the Basilisk goes boom. I swap to the Legion and start raping the Raven, who promptly decides to engage back. The tengu also engages. I start hitting him hard, but he is strangely heavily shield buffered and manages to deagress and dock at low shield. I then swap to the jaguar and burn after the tengu but he manages to warp just outside of warp disruptor range. Damn. Ah well, at least I got shot!
So I returned to my safe spot, jumped in my cheetah and started to scan for more battleships. That's when I scanned down this russian bloke in a dominix! I thought what the hell, it's been a good day, lets make it better! In the jaguar again and I warped off to bug the damn ruskies! Well, the Dominix was in the second room of his Angel Extravaganza and I stole the one wreck that was there. He was not happy! I tested his auto-lock (which works =P) and he shot the wreck right as I started looting it. He then boxed me and sent drones after me! WOOT! Point, orbit at 22km and shoot drones! He recalled his drones quickly though and then popped Warden I's.
Wat!?
I thought he was going to keep on doing the mission but he apparently decided that I couldn't kill the drones from 22km away. Derp. He derped even more when he decided not to align. He finally started to get smart again and deployed his Hobgoblin II's again, though he still didn't get some movement going. As the Orca entered warp on the second gate, I burned right at him and swapped before he realized what was happening.
Then the tricky part came. How do you ransom a guy who doesn't speak English while: trying to keep him alive (my neut killed any chance he had at tanking the rats), Watching your own cap, using google translate to check what he is saying and what I am saying, oh and checking your wallet/log to see that he pays or doesn't self destruct.
It's hard, but he finally payed me 18 million ISK and then I popped him. I got a nice little surprise from the drop, I did not expect the faction armor repper!
That was my afternoon yesterday. Oh and I popped a Sansha mothership (Event in New Caldari on Jita Gate which we were trying to fuck with) and got on a -10 guy's typhoon loss mail. Altogether a good day to be a ninja!

Finders Keepers
I almost forgot to post about this!
Yesterday there was a shout out in alliance chat by now Ex-Ninja CEO Aiden Mourne wondering what he should do with an abandoned Mackinaw (he had been killing it when the owner ejected) that he could not scoop with his Orca. He could not fly it out himself and was wondering if anyone was nearby.
I was bored and nobody had shot me yet so I decided to help out an epically awesome ninja (IM A FAN OF AIDEN). He was 13 jumps away however.
Shuttle time anyone?
Half-an-hour later I arrived in the system he was in, next to Magicko (I don't remember the system name, it started with a T but who cares), warped to him and hopped in the Mackinaw. For extra lolz, I started to mine!
Then I convo'd him and showed the guy this screenshot. He must not have been amused cause he just said "enjoy..." and left convo. So mad?
I docked up while Aiden swapped to a Cloaky-Loki to wait it out and see if the miner came back. I traded the Mack over to aiden's alt and was about to start back towards Gallente space when I saw the miner warping to the icebelt in Harbinger!
Lol! Shout to Aiden in alliance that the guy was warping to the icebelt and I warp in to watch. Sadly, Aiden was in a AB fit Loki which was not fast enough to catch a Harbinger going 950 m/s second, even overheated. The guy warped out at 50% structure.
Thats all for now!

Hide you macks, hide you ice, hide yo' self cause he's mining everything! |

Behold! The unbeatable MINERTHRON! |
Weekly Update!
I have been to lazy to update the blog much, so here's an update of the last week:
Looking at my killboard, the oldest kill of mine since the kronos was a Basilisk. He had another basi came in to repair a loki that had decided to engage me and I just couldn't keep up with the repair rate of 2 basi's so I let the Loki go in hopes of catching one of the Basilisks off guard, which I did! Woot! Sadly the next ship I warped to was a Proteus that also shot me. He however was MWD fit and was able to go approximately 1350 m/s, which was 150 m/s faster than my Worm could go even with the AB overheated... I think its time for an DED Space AB =(
My next kill was a Dominix who I don't recall much about except the fact that he seems to have CONCORD'ed himself on my Orca rather than pay his ransom. Worth every laugh on that one, despite the fact I got no ransom.
My most recent kill was a raven. I was 90% sure he was going to bring in friends as I was ransoming him because there was a rifter on D-Scan. However, I made the wrong impression on him while trying to get ISK from him because I think I scared away the rifter... anyway, as I swapped to a basilisk to keep him alive so he would pay me his ship blew up... hence why I'm in a basilisk on the kill mail. Lol!

Pay Your Ransom, or Else!
What happens when you don't pay a ransom to me?
I get your corpse. That's what.
The other day I got my second marauder to shoot me and it was the first one I could actually attempt to kill! His railguns nearly wrecked my Worm but I was able to get him pointed and had my friend (toobs) bring in my Orca and Przckk come in for back up.
Well, it went perfectly: The guy even shot Przckk as he came in for a bump! So Przckk pointed him and I swapped to the Legion, put him into low armor and demanded a ransom of 500 million ISK (Didn't really demand, asked nicely infact). He said he'd just buy another one so I put him into 20% structure before asking again. He said “haha no way” and left convo.
I was not amused. I got Przckk to get his pod as he exploded, I ran over to neighboring Dodixie to get a pod juicing thrasher. I tried a ransom again: 500 mil and his pod would live to see another day. Again, he declined.
Up side? I got a new corpse and some “I'm gonna hunt you down” tears. Downside? Przckk went below -3.00 Security status and we were in a 0.9 system, He lost his hurricane (which I paid for in full as he was the one who finished off the pod [Damn Transversal]), his Vigil AND his Helios (the last two because he left the Helios out in space next to his vigil. When he boarded the Vigil, it got concordokkend as did his unoccupied Helios I was trying to save. WTF CCP?).
All Told:
Kronos Kill: 1.1 Billion ISK
Ship Replacement (Hurricane): 55 Million ISK
Watching one angry carebear lose his pod: Priceless
Fly Dangerously,
Hianmar
Edit: I forgot to add the tears...

Double Dipping (is bad for your health)
So I was operating solo today, playing around and just generally trying to get shot in Auvergne, when a Megathron lets loose on my little harpy from 40km away! I was like, oh shit! That's 7km out of my point range and he's already aligned!
But he was hitting my hard (I was not moving) and he decided that he was going to be able to kill me due to the fact that he popped drones. Well, he was wrong. The harpy burned fast and I overloaded my point to 33.2 km and was able to point him without him warping off. I then murdered all his drones as his salvage alt warped off. Still, there was the problem of him being still aligned.
Enter MWD-Skirmish-Link-Orca. Top speed, 365 m/s. I burned the Orca approximately 70km away from him, aligned toward the station as well before turning around and burning back along his path of travel to bump him superbly out of alignment. A quick swap to the Legion soon had him sitting in his pod, though I barely killed him before self-destruct (20 seconds left on the clock!).
As I swapped back to the Harpy I hit D-Scan just in case and sure enough I saw a Myrmidon and Retribution on scan! These guys want to party! So I refreshed aggro and warped back to the beginning of the mission but the retribution was gone and the Myrmidon bugged out a moment later, so I went back into mission to get my scan ship when the Myrmidon and a Thrasher show up on D-Scan! Sounds like fun!
Well, as it turns out, Thrashers can have one hell of a buffer and my Harpy was soon toasted on the Dessy's hot autocannons. The megathron pilot got his revenge, successfully killing my frigate. I was too hasty and was eager for another kill on this guy who I thought was fairly stupid at that point. My bad. Moral? Don't double dip...
But it doesn't matter: I'd trade a 20 million ISK loss for a 140 million ISK kill any day. Anyway, it was an excellent and thrilling fight and he got his revenge in a thoroughly non-insulting way: an honorable 1v1.
Plus, that loss also gave me an excuse to liquidate 300 million worth of loot in my Orca, so cheers! =D

Ninja 101 (Part 2: The Bait Ship)
In this guide I try to explain how to ninja without failing and hopefully without inspiring too many new ninjas because then I might be out of work =P
Part 2: The Bait Ship
This is probably the most complicated part of being a Ninja, for you will need a ship that can:
a) Invoke the wrath of the unsuspecting carebear
b) Tank said carebear and possible support
c) Point and Web the carebear and possible support
d) Pop the drones of the carebear as they are your biggest threat aside from friends in PvP ships
e) Keep up with the carebear (I've had an MWD Legion nearly escape me because he was 40 m/s faster than me and out of web range when he shot me) Speed is CRUCIAL
The Popular Ninja Bait Ships and How to Fit Them
That said, your best bet is probably the Jaguar as it has T2 Resists, High Speeds and adequate DPS. It also looks a good deal like its T1 counterpart the Rifter so it may also be mistaken at first sight. Your Fit should look something like this:
High Power:
3x 125mm Gatling AutoCannon II
1x Salvager I
Medium Power:
1x Warp Disruptor II
1x Stasis Webifier II
1x 1MN Afterburner II
1x Medium Shield Extender II
Low Power:
1x Damage Control II
2x Power Diagnostic System II
Rig Slot:
2x Small Core Defence Field Extender I
Estimated Cost: 25 Million ISK
This thing will pretty much tank any mission runner(s) that does not have a web. I have lost 1 Jaguar out of the 100's of people who have shot me and that was to a Rattlesnake with Dramiel support (web + webbing drones). It is an effective ship, quite fun to fly and an excellent ninja ship.
Now there are alternatives to the Jaguar. The next most popular bait ship that I have seen is the Ishkur. It is effective, but a bit more fragile than a Jaguar or Harpy. Fitting should like this:
High Power:
2x Light Ion Blaster II
1x Small Diminishing Power System Drain I
1x Salvager I
Medium Power:
1x Gistii B-Type 1MN Afterburner
1x x5 Prototype I Engine Enervator
1x Faint Warp Disruptor I
Low Power:
1x Damage Control II
1x Coreli C-Type Small Armor Repairer
1x Armor Explosive Hardener II
Rig Slot:
1x Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
1x Small Anti-EM Pump I
Drones:
5x Warrior II
Xx Logistic Drones For Aiding and Abetting Fellow Ninjas
Estimated Cost: 60 Million ISK
This fit is recommended for those of you who wish to use a Gallente Assault Frigate rather than a minmatar one.
For those of you who have a little more ISK or a little more gumption, the Worm is also an excellent choice of ship. However, as I said before, its cost can run into the hundreds of millions (I know a ninja who has lost 2 worms, each worth over 600 Million ISK). Here is my fit:
High Power:
2x Rocket Launcher II
1x Salvager I
Medium Power:
1x Republic Fleet Warp Disruptor
1x Federation Navy Stasis Webifier
1x Medium Shield Extender II
1x 1MN Afterburner II
Low Power:
2x Power Diagnostic System II
1x Damage Control II
Rig Slot:
3x Small Core Defence Field Extender II
Drones:
5x Warrior II
5x Light Shield Maintenance Drone I
Estimated Cost: 340 Million ISK
The Worm is fun to fly and can seriously ruin any carebear's day. It's cost is also a factor in getting shot, as carebear's may wish to ruin YOUR day by trying to kill you and blow up your 70+ million ISK ship.
Hianmar's Bait Ship (of choice):
I personally find that the Harpy is the best assault ship and bait ship in my Orca (I also have a Jaguar and a Worm in there). It's high DPS (184 with my skills) and sturdy tank, coupled with its decent speed capabilities and low volume make it an excellent Orca based baiting ship. Here is my fit:
High Power:
4x Light Ion Blaster II
1x Salvager I
Medium Power:
1x Warp Disruptor II
1x 'Langour' Drive Disruptor I
1x 1MN Afterburner II
1x Medium Shield Extender II
Low Power:
1x Damage Control II
1x Power Diagnostic System II
Rig Slot:
2x Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Estimated Cost: 22 Million ISK
That pretty much covers the topic of baiting ships. If you have any questions or comments, please add them below and I will get back to them ASAP.

High Power:
2x Rocket Launcher II
1x Salvager I
Medium Power:
1x Republic Fleet Warp Disruptor
1x Federation Navy Stasis Webifier
1x Medium Shield Extender II
1x 1MN Afterburner II
Low Power:
2x Power Diagnostic System II
1x Damage Control II
Rig Slot:
3x Small Core Defence Field Extender II
Drones:
5x Warrior II
5x Light Shield Maintenance Drone I
Estimated Cost: 340 Million ISK
The Worm is fun to fly and can seriously ruin any carebear's day. It's cost is also a factor in getting shot, as carebear's may wish to ruin YOUR day by trying to kill you and blow up your 70+ million ISK ship.
Hianmar's Bait Ship (of choice):
I personally find that the Harpy is the best assault ship and bait ship in my Orca (I also have a Jaguar and a Worm in there). It's high DPS (184 with my skills) and sturdy tank, coupled with its decent speed capabilities and low volume make it an excellent Orca based baiting ship. Here is my fit:
High Power:
4x Light Ion Blaster II
1x Salvager I
Medium Power:
1x Warp Disruptor II
1x 'Langour' Drive Disruptor I
1x 1MN Afterburner II
1x Medium Shield Extender II
Low Power:
1x Damage Control II
1x Power Diagnostic System II
Rig Slot:
2x Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Estimated Cost: 22 Million ISK
That pretty much covers the topic of baiting ships. If you have any questions or comments, please add them below and I will get back to them ASAP.

Ninja 101 (Part 1: Overview and Scanning)
I'm bored and my internet is being too uncooperative to play EVE so I thought I'd start a guide to everything in EVE that I know how to do, starting with ninjaing. I know I'm not gonna get called out by my corp-mates because, lets face it, not that many people read this blog at the moment. Anyway, mylootyourtears.com gets more hits and Khalia, Paul and Aiden give everything away! So here goes:
Ninja 101 Overview
This guide is going to be a multi-part, mostly complete overview of the art of the Ninja Salvager. This introduction piece will hopefully tell you which skills you will wish to train so that you are optimized for Hunting, Baiting and Killing your targets.
Part 1: Scanning
Scanning is probably one of the most essential skills for a ninja to have, crucial if they want to operate solo. Scanning is not just task that requires Skill Points, but it also requires a real finesse and eye for scanning marks as well as knowledge of how to set up, resize and manage probes. Since the release of Incarna, it has also been exponentially harder to scan in EVE. This means you need every advantage you can get, so train all your support skills to the recommended level [RL: __] shown below next to the skill name. You should also look into some implants if you plan on ninja-ing regularly, or at least scanning regularly.
Essential Skills to Train:
Astrometrics [RL:IV] Increases maximum number of probes by 1 per level, max probes 8 at level 5
Astrometric Pinpointing [RL:IV] Reduces Max. Scan Deviation by 10%
Astrometric Acquisition [RL:IV] 10% Reduction in Scan Time per level
Astrometric Rangefinding [RL:IV] 10% Increase in Scan Probe Strength per level
Covert Ops [RL:IV] Skill at using covert ops ships, gives a bonus to scanning
Racial Frigate of Choice to Level V Allows use of a covert ops ship, winmatar is optimal for Orca as it is the smallest covert ops ship. Also allows easy training to Jaguar assault ship for baiting.
Implants:
[Slots 1-6:] Low-Grade Virtue Set Pros: Greatly increases scan probe strength. Cons: Cost (1.6 Billion ISK), low attribute enhancement (only +2 points)
[Slot 6:] Hardwiring - Poteque Pharmaceuticals 'Prospector' PPF-1 or PPF-2 Reduces Max Scan Deviation by 6% or 10%
[Slot 7:] Hardwiring - Poteque Pharmaceuticals 'Prospector' PPG-1 or PPG-2 Reduces Scan time by 6% or 10%
[Slot 8:] Hardwiring - Poteque Pharmaceuticals 'Prospector' PPH-1 or PPH-2 Increase Scan strength by 6% or 10%
Items:
Covert Ops Ship: Cheetah, Helios, Buzzard and Anathema are all covert ops ships, a must have for any ninja.
Combat Probes and Expanded Probe Launcher: Allows you to scan down ships
Sister's Scanner and Combat Probes: Grants additional bonuses to scan strength, not as necessary for the average ninja, especially the probes. Launcher is always a plus.
Technique:
Your scanning technique will depend a great deal upon your skills and implants. I currently don't have implants or great skills, but here is the technique taught to me by another ninja who is an excellent scanner (can scan a system at a rate to keep 2-3 active ninja's happy + self). He has all the recommended skills and the prospectors (cannot afford virtue set) along with a covert ops ship and sisters probes/launcher.
Here is the ideal layout:
From this position, you will probably not get a direct 100% hit on any ship unless it is a marauder or some MWDing battleship. For the most part you will have to move your probes (press and hold shift while left clicking and dragging on any of the arrows) along the x, y, and z axis; resize (click a probe in scanning window, hit "control" + "a" and right click to resize); and move your formation inwards or outwards ("alt" and left click on any of the arrows and drag mouse) so that you have an overlap once more in the middle of your formation.
It is fairly straightforward once you get the hang of it, but play around and start to learn the little tags (The boxes on the overview are the same as in scanning) and what size ship the correspond to. Also, you may wish to adjust your filters so that you can skip over certain ships. I personally avoid industrials and barges, but that's me.
This same technique can be used to scan down anything else, provided that you change your probes (core probes for looking for things like wormholes and exploration sites). Learning to scan opens up a whole (hehe... cause you can find wormholes) new dimension to EVE giving you lucrative new careers to pursue.

Overdue
Whoops, it seems it has been a week since my last kill and at least that since my last post.
News:
I've made five or six kills since my last post, most notable among them was a Megathron Navy Issue who paid me only half of my ransom. I asked for 500 Million ISK and he refused to pay anything till I put him in structure. I then received 275 Million ISK which was most unsatisfactory. I shot him down!
This was supposed to be posted on 6/9/2011... dunno why it wasn't

Wahoo!
Ok, so I was bored today and decided to scan and mission runner gank for myself (What?). It turned out to be an excellent idea!
First person I scanned down was missioning in a Caldari Navy Raven with his friend in a Hurricane. The CNR could shoot me, the hurricane could not. Now, they weren't altogether happy with my unannounced arrival and decided that they would party somewhere else, like at Aunia II at approx. 30km from the warp in.
I was bored and not expecting much of a response I locked and quickly unlocked the CNR, which tests for auto-lock. About a minute later, I notice missiles flying into my Harpy! He shot me!! So I overloaded my point for two cycles (Range of 32km!), burned towards him and proceeded to pop his drones one by one with my blasters of doom. Then the Orca arrived and I burned into a tight orbit to hold him down tighter, which was unnecessary as he did not move at all.
In all the excitement, I failed to my attempt at a ransom by being to franc (I notice pointing out the value of the ship to the pilot and going 20% under that helps). So he had to be killed. Easy 100 million ISK.
Daron Gekh, an old friend of mine from my n00bier days in EVE learned a quick lesson on why PvP in a PvE ship is dangerous, I had him into low armor after convincing him to fight my little assault frigate. Now he knows better =P
However, as he paid my ransom he lived to mission another day in his Dominix Navy Issue... he's also alive because he's a friend.
My second and final kill of the night was an Apocalypse who I did the same trick to as the CNR with the auto-lock. He too did not wish to pay a ransom and as he went into low armor he decided to self-destruct, so I melted him quickly too. He had a Megathron friend on D-Scan for a while, but he was a no show to the party =(
So that was my night, a fairly eventful and fun one =D

Bot Bot, Do the Robot
The other day I learned about the report bot feature which was recently added to EVE. Let's just say I hope CCP doesn't ban me from the button =D. This feature is so useful, be it for lulz or for actually reporting a bot (there are so many these days...), there will hopefully be a downturn in the number of them.
That aside, I've been ninjaing but haven't been shot by anyone since my last happy ninja post. I'm currently trying to decide what to train up for after I can T2 fit a Hawk class Assault Frigate. They are so fun to fly and are pretty badass for salvaging missions. I may also replace my Dramiel with a Worm, since my Dramiel only sees action during active war time patrols and is therefore useless all the rest of my playing time.
Will hopefully have another blogpost ready after I actually get on later tonight, but right now I got to run (literally =D).

Friday Night (BEST NIGHT!)
Today was a day for me, myself and I.
I have been chilling with friends all week (as well as working) so I have had very little "me" time. So I took today to finish my book, catch up on yardwork and of course: Play EVE! =)
Tonight was a good night for EVE. I warped to a couple of missions and got nothing. No one decided to play at first. Then I warped to, as my alliance mate calls it, a "Hyperion-Drake-Myrm-Cyclone Combo Pack". Sounded like fun so I went and joined the party >:)
The party was almost over when I arrived. So I yoinked some loot and managed to grab the mission objective which I noticed the Hyperion burning for. He wasn't too happy, but my cargo was near full so I dropped a can and decided to keep looting.
Enter a Nocti, and as I'm burning for it, I notice my can disappear. WTF??? Then, on my overview, the Hyperion is red! Hurray!!
Point him up, orbit him and bring in the orca. It was as smooth as ever, helped by the fact the Hyperion decided to align after I had him pointed by my Legion. There was a short conversation involved which resulted in a kindly donation of 120 million ISK towards my Pac, a group for the exploitation of derpheads.
He then, under fire from my legion of missiles spewing from my legion died splendidly in a ball of fire.
Thanks for the ISK Mate =D
The next few hours were less eventful as a fellow corpmate who was scanning for me managed to convince all the bears that he was harmful and just wanted the salvage so they left him alone. It was disappointing how few people wanted to play.
Anyway, I think that is all for today, its now 1:30 am and I am pooped. Here's to next time Vile!

Null Sec again??
While many of us don't like Incarna, the Ninja's of EVE witnessed a nerfing of our income of the past few months.
Perhaps the first nerf to Ninja income, but one that most won't be seen complaining about, is the new rigs. But it was the start of the lowering of salvage prices to the point where one can barely get by via ninjaing. Then came the Noctis. This little "designated salvage" vessel takes no skill whatsoever to outstrip a ninja. It also flooded the market with salvage which lowered prices.
Another nerf, little known perhaps, was the fuck up with the Orca swapping. Some ninja's use this practice to "hot swap" to a gank ship in space. Normal "orca swaps" took the ship you were flying, put it in the bay for you and automatically boarded the new ship for you. However, with the accidental nerf the ship you were flying would be left in space. Most inconvenient. This put a great many ninja's off their game for about a week, including myself.
The third and perhaps most annoying nerf was to scanning. I have Astrometics 4 and the support skills at 2 or 3. This used to be fine during the pre-Incarna days. I could scan down almost any ship within 2 or 3 scans. Now it is nigh impossible for me to scan anything and the people with excellent skills are finding it difficult as well. This was supposed to be an improvement, but it only helps those with optimum skills.
Either way, I am not amused with Incarna or Ninjaing at this point. I have another set of skills to get up 5/4/4/4 now since EVE is being stupid, which means remapping and all that jazz, none of which I am currently prepared to do as I still have many ships, guns and missiles to train for :)
Depending on my mood in the coming weeks, I may be returning to null security space, this time with TEST. Several ninja's in corp have already joined and they seem to be having fun. I may send an alt out there, I may send my main or I may send everyone out there. I really don't know.
I am currently trying to decide, bear with me here =/

I Fail (or Why I hate Rattlesnakes)
I fail at blogging =D Its been over two months (at least) since my last blogpost and I hope I haven't lost my single reader.
Fuck...
Anyway, there is really no point in listing everything that has happened over the past two months, only the highlights.
I bought a Legion. My third T3 that I can fly and the second in my collection: It joins the Tengu in the Ranks of epic gank ships. 725 DPS + 108K EHP makes this thing a beast. My Tengu was converted about a month ago to pew pew, 450 DPS + 500 DPS Active Tank (Mini-Sleipnir). The Legion has already tasted blood >:)
I have learned to hate Rattlesnakes. My current batting average vs. Rattlers is a 0.333 including my encounter of just a few minutes ago.
They just fuck with me. My first one I went to shot me (yay!) and I ransomed it (yay!) and killed it (yay!). Lots of ISK for me (I bought my legion (yay!)). That was all well and good, but the ship was fail fit. I had not truly tested my ganking ability against the might of the rattler.
Enter Chinfist, Rattlesnake Pilot extraordinaire, who decided to aggro me and bring in friends. First, a jiggy jaguar which I scared off with my jaguar. He still hadn't shot me yet so I went about and ate his wrecks up for him (nom nom nom) when Jaguar friend brings in a rupture and opens up on me. Chinfist also lets loose his evil drones. It was smooth as any gank is supposed to be. I scared the shit out of the ruppy with my jaguar, got the Rattler pointed and swapped ships.
Then I started shooting the rattler. I think I lost about 80 mil on this gank. 15 on Ammunition and 69 mil to my 3 suicide gank pilots who tried to help me through the freaking shields of the rattler who conveniently came back from afk in time to cylce his invuln 3 or 4 times. Fucker.
Thats reason #1 for hating rattlers.
Tonight, I lost my faithful and first ever (on hian at least) assault ship. I loved that jaguar, so much that I thought it ballsy to fly around with only 35% structure left. That proved to be my downfall.
This second rattle also had a friend, in a dramiel and I royally fucked up. I should have called for reps as soon as I saw the dramiel on D-Scan but I thought my corpmates, who were getting updates by the minute, would realize that they had to come in when I saw him on grid. Stupid Stupid Hianmar. The Rattler had 3 Webbing drones (60% webs) and the dramiel had a web (50%). Together they fucked my little Jaguar so hard that it broke! They even stole the salvage =(
Probably the worst part (for me) was my jaguar popped right as my logi friend landed on grid with me, which means I may have been able to live if I had repaired my Jaguar.
Ah well, lesson learned. Always repair your ships.

Nothing but the Rain
In response to my last post, in which I complained thoroughly about killing nothing, I must say that I have killed a lot.
I think this last weekend's total kills came into 1 Caracal, 1 Drake, 3 Dominix Class Battleships, a Legion and a Dominix Navy Issue. Hurray! I have also killed a Navy Raven, a Hurricane and a Raven since my last blog post. But still, that's 7 Kills in 3 Days, I win!!!
I also had a Raven escape from me after he and his friend in a thorax attempted to murder my innocent Jaguar. It was close, for both of us. His Thorax friend webbed me and I had about 9 Drones on me, 4 T1 Hammerhead's and 5 T2 Hammerheads, plus blasters and cruise missiles. Sadly, even though I had my friend Xa Fel on his way in in a Guardian, it was not enough to save my poor little ninja hide. I had to warp, which I started doing as I entered armor (Shield Tanked Jaguar afterall) and finally entered warp when I was at 60% structure!
Xa was in warp to the room I had just left, and told me which direction the raven had gone. I was able to pin the Raven on the outgate, but he reapproached so I deagressed. Finally, I decided it wasn't worth the wait as he was going to get away either way (we couldn't bump him off) so I opened fire in a borrowed hurricane. He jumped and warped after about 5 minutes (derp?). I congratulated him on his success and went off to vent my rage on my third Dominix kill of the weekend, shortly followed by the massacre of a Caracal who wanted to help a corpmate who was pinned by other Ninja's 150km off the mission warp-in. Lol!
Perhaps the most exciting kill of the weekend for me was my first "solo" T3 Kill, the Legion I mentioned earlier. It was MWD and Salvaging fit, which was certainly a surprise. He preboxed me (woot!) and then opened fire! I was like, OMG! I burned towards him only to discover that he was about 50m/s faster than me and 26km away, out of web range but still in point range thanks to my friends in a skirmish boosting tengu. I also had some friends in Logistics ships giving me extra cap and reps so I could get within his webbing range. He managed to get another 2km away before he capped out, he was still shooting me.
When we were about 200km off the warp in (about 10 minutes later, cause I had him webbed so he could only go 500 m/s), he decided to turn around. I had my friend flying my Hurricane out to me, so I was getting ready to swap when I noticed a Falcon on D-Scan!
Brain goes "Oh Shit!", mouth goes "Oh shit! Falcon coming in!" Suddenly, it Clicked why he had turned around, he was hoping his falcon friend could jam me because of corp aggro. Sadly for him, he had burned out for too long and my corp aggro had run out. lol! No escape for you! He burned all the way back to the Warp Gate, only to realize he had no more chances. I tried for a ransom once I had swapped to my cane, but he said he needed time. Classic Self-Destruct-Incoming excuse. Sure enough, the notification came accross. Fortunately, I only initiate ransoms when my target is in low armor/structure so it was easy to quickly dispose of this douche bag.
God I love it when ships prebox! Still, I made almost no ISK, only 30 million off the third Domi-Kill who decided to cheat me out of a ransom by paying half and then doing the dishonorable thing off calling in friends. He popped.
That was my weekend, fly safe and kill blingy shit!

Aint gonna rain no more...
no more...
This week has been slow. Really slow. I have not been able to get one kill this week, even after ruining my reputation in Balginia local by being all sad and tear-y eyed.
All I've got to shoot me was a damnation-brutix combo that warped out as soon as I got back in the mission, despite the fact that they put me into armor.
Then tonight I tried to get a Machariel to shoot me (see ruining reputation), which culminated in a friend coming in to "RR" the Machariel while he shoots me. He apparently played us all the fool, warping off as my Aggression timer ran out and leaving us high and dry with no kills to be had. I've gotten on one kill mail, and that was a Hurricane that about four of us got on the mail for.
On top of that, I've made only about 30 million ISK in the last week, 5 mil from the Hurricane drop and 25 million from a Ransom. That means I still need approx. 200 million ISK for my PLEX due in two weeks. I don't like to beg, but any donations would be greatly appreciated at this point =(
Damn this dry spell...

Ba Der Ba Der!
Tonight, I got only one kill. But it was still a good kill. I warped to my first scan, a Dominix, to discover that it was a six month old character in a level three mission.
A certain Palefoxx thought that warping away would scare my mighty Jaguar of Doom away. He also apparently thought that warping back in, locking me up and shooting me would do the same.
Silly Palefoxx, PvP is for winners!
He promptly deployed a flight of Warden I's (Herp Derp?) and proceeded to try and kill my jaguar that way. However, as soon as I locked up his drones and started to pew pew them, he pulled them in. Which suited me fine as his drones had a lot of EHP compared to normal drones. With perfect timing, my Orca landed right next to me and I hot-swapped into my Hurricane of Destiny (Actually named after one of the three Fates from greek mythology to those who care) and proceed to suck his capacitor dry. He started to melt and when I demanded a measly 50 million ISK Ransom, he declined saying he didn't have the ISK. I then asked him to eject, which he did. I also asked him to warp off, which he did.
I couldn't believe my luck.
Well, then I could. As I stored my Hurricane in preparation to board the Dominix, I realized that some of the rats, which orbited at 30-50km had re-targeted the now docile and benign Dominix. This meant that I could no longer BOARD my newly won ship.
So my first attempt at a true Pirate style ganking failed. I had to watch as my prize, valued at 100 mil dropped into low hull and died. Sadface ;(
Anyway, that was my evening, aside from griefing some Drake by stealing his mission objective which he decided wasn't worth the trouble of killing me for. Funny, that CNR I killed a while back did.

Dear Followers
if any,
Sorry I have not posted, I only tend to post as much as I am on and since I have only been on this past week to update skills, I don't have much to post about.
If your wondering what's going on, I'm planning a suicide gank of a corp I infiltrated. Hopefully the loot will be worth the battleship or two its going to take. Sadly, as a marauder it has a huge fucking tank, but I know he likes to auto pilot it and it doesn't have the much EHP.
Anyway, hopefully there will be more rape-age to report later.
Adios,

Boom Boom Pow!
Yesterday was a good day.
I logged in and almost immediately set my orca alt up for his final hour of training to get him into that blasted beast. Then I went to Jita so as to fit up a Jaguar, Cheetah and Rupture. I popped these in my ship maintenance bay along with my Hurricane and Dramiel. With the remaining 16,018 m^3 of space I decided to pop in a shuttle and an RR Navitas (you read correctly). Then it was off to Ruvas.
So I scan down some ships and my first hit is a Raven. I warp in and it's a 5 room mission. As it turns out, it's a Raven-Kronos team. I loot and almost immediately the Raven goes red. Hurray! Lock, point and shoot drones as I orbit the silly carebear. He can't pop me and I just chill as my orca comes along SLOWLY. Meanwhile the Kronos locks me up pops Hobgoblin II's and proceeds to decide whether or not I'm worth it. I'm not For the time being.
Then my orca arrives! It's all Herp-Derp from there as I hot swap into my Hurricane and proceed to unload into the Raven. It took a bit long than I had thought with Republic Fleet EMP, but then again he did have invulnerability field II's fit. As the raven entered low shields, something amazing happened: the Kronos red boxed me and proceeded to web me as a Malediction showed up on D-Scan.
If only I had had my Proteus with me. As the Raven went boom my Hurricane went into structure and I swapped into the shuttle because my jaguar was shield tanked and the Kronos was aligned to warp anyway. So a Kronos got away, but I killed a Raven with no losses. Worth it >:)
My second kill of the evening was a Dominix who decided ninjas are evil and vile creatures who need to suffer the wrath of 15 hobgoblin II's. It was another 5 room mission, so it was going to be close as my shied did not like his bajillion drones he was throwing my way. Thank god for autocannons. His drones went pop pop but he was fielding them as fast as I could kill them. I also had the aide of fellow ninja Waagstrom who was in a Scimitar providing reps. The Dominix, who once I'd popped his small drones decided it was time to finish the mission once I'd popped all his small drones was at 40% armor once my Orca had arrived and I'd popped him. I offered to let him live but he declined. Sadly I couldn't scoop the 5 million ISK drop but it wasn't that much anyway.
Finally, I almost got a Nighthawk kill. I was Ninja-ing with Waagstrom again and the stupid carebear decided to shoot me in his worlds collide. He was prepared though, with precision missiles and ECM drones. I warped off and when I came back he was still there! Waagstrom was back in his Scimitar and we tried to get him. I was able to tank him but I couldn't pop his ECM drone fast enough. With 2 left he got a cycle in and as I locked him and his drones up he warped. I was that close. :(
Too bad. My night was concluded with the 17 jumps to Agra where I will hopefully get some nice kills tonight!

Long Time No Play
Mass Effect is an excellent game, let me just say that.
There have been several reasons for my absence from the EVE servers lately, the main one is I'm a bit burnt out with the game and need a brake in order to want to get back into the game.
Short post cause I have to go to bed, it's late.

EVE Binge Over
No I'm not quitting, just a little bored (with EVE) and busy as hell. Plus we're at war and since my main flies my Orca that makes it pretty hard to go out and about my business of Mission Runner Ganking.
Sigh...
But I can't wait to get back in the game!
My Orca alternate will soon be ready, hurray! Just about 12 more days until I can finally inject the industrial command ships book into his already bloated head! Then it's off to the land of the Amarrian golden-already-shiny ships that I can't wait to fly fully skilled! Sacrilege/Pulse Apoc here I come! My main meanwhile is gaining the ability to fly all manners of T2 Minmatar ships, under 6 days now until he can fly Cheetah, Hound, Jaguar, and the Wolf. Who cares about the others? I am also training up my scanning skills which I regret not including in my regime before my remap. If only I had known that with excellent skills you can scan down armor tanking battleships at 8 AU! Ah well, I have 12 days until my Orca alt is ready anyway. Might as well fill that time with "Ninja Support" skills.
I really don't have much else to report. Our current war is with some butt-hurt Russian Macro-ers who decided to kill our baiting fleet's loots about two weeks ago. Herp Derp.
We flipped the loot as fast as we could, he scooped it and got aggro on us. We popped him. He then came back a bit later once his aggression counter had run out. We warped in some suicide alts and got both his ship and his pod. Fuck you Mimol!
He apparently went a little crazy after this because he lost about 400M ISK worth of implants. LOL! The war dec vote was put in within 30 minutes of his podding: sped up with the aid of taunts, jeers and other instigation's of rage by SN member. "Trolololol" is the word of the day when you decide to steal from a Ninja.
So tonight I say goodnight to you. My wallet is still comfortable padded from my Navy Raven kill a few nights ago (I seem to have more and more ISK lying around now than ever before...) and I have some Butt-Hurt Russian Macro-Douchebags to kill in my WARCA!
Laters,
Hianmar, a.k.a. TheEVEGamer
PS: To any of my readers (if any, I don't really check), could you kindly tell me if the Daredevil is worth purchasing? I already have a Dramiel (Just got this weekend!), but I haven't had a chance to fly it yet what with multiple wars and having bought it in Jita: City of Lag and WT Douchebaggery.
Sigh...

Pass the Duct Tape Plz...
I need it to hold together my slightly used Minmatar Ships!
With the loot from the Raven I killed in my previous post, I was able to buy next month's PLEX as well as some fun new ships.
I bought and fit an armor Hurricane of Doom and a Dramiel. As I mentioned before, drakes tend to run into EHP problems when "Hot Swapped" from an Orca. So I bought a Hurricane in preparation for when my Orca alt can finally fly the beastly support ship that is the Orca.
Since T2 Medium Autocannons require T2 Small Autocannons, I also thought it would be pretty epic of me to fit up a Dramiel, King of Speed. I popped some Gist B-Type Afterburners/Microwarpdrives on it and I can go 2200 m/s Stable (AB) or up to 5000 m/s for about three minutes (MWD).
Hurray for new shiny ships!

Pew Pew Navy Raven!
I got my first two solo kills today, both on mission runners.
My first was to a Russian dominix pilot who thought his friends could save him. They could not. The also thought they had aggro on my Orca. They did not. I pew pew pew'd his domi but due to lack of knowledge of the mechanics of the Orca I failed to save my drake from destruction. Ah well.
So I quickly went over to Jita, reshipped into a brand spanking new drake and went about my business of scanning. I found a Navy Raven and, though knowing that most CNR's are macro-ers, I decided to investigate.
As soon as I showed up on grid, he warped out. He was an '06 player and the only player in his corporation. After a short discussion, he asked me to keep an eye out for his mission objective, some viral agent or some sort. My trusty Merlin soon sniffed it out and scooped it up, but my services are not rendered for free.
Apparently, this did not go over well with my CNR friend, for he promptly locked me up and proceeded to open fire. My Orca, which was waiting on the gate struggled to warp in on time and my Merlin died in a ball of fire.
This is normally the time where Mr. CNR would warp out. He did not.
He sits there for more than thirty seconds as I switch into my drake and promptly open fire with Torrent Rage Missiles. But it is also here I learn the problem with shield tanking gank ships and Orca's. Your bonus to shield amount is not taken into account when boarding ships, nor are certain modules. So every time I board my drake, I'm at 60% shield strength, which means I have approximately 40k EHP. His CNR was hitting my drake like it was the broad side of a barn, so it wasn't long until I was in armor, then structure shortly after.
Not wishing to repeat my previous mistake, I quickly switched into my Hawk and kited the CNR. I then hopped back into the Drake and reopened fire for 30 seconds before quickly switching back to the Hawk as the CNR resumed fire upon my drake. The Hawk could tank the CNR, the Drake could break it. I had to find a new solution and quickly. I decided to keep the CNR pointed with the hawk while I docked my Orca and repaired the drake.
When I came back in the Orca, I found another ninja on the gate and also that the CNR pilot had gone seemingly AFK for some unknown reason. Herp derp. I opened fire in my drake, which now had no shields (Buffer Hull Tank FTW!) and proceeded to destroy the CNR in a matter of minutes.
The CNR was worth 2.5 Billion ISK all told. I tried to get a ransom of a mere 300 million ISK, but he wouldn't pay when I asked and I had to kill him while he was "afk". The great thing was the 700 Million ISK in drops that I received for my hour and a half of work. The Drops included a Gist C-Type X-Large Shield Booster (550 Million ISK), 2x Caldari Navy Cruise Missile Launchers (50 Million ISK ea.) and 1x Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System (90 Million ISK).
All Told,
20 Minutes Scanning
10 Minutes Salvaging
30 Minutes Baiting
30 Minutes Fighting
TOTAL
1.5 Hours
ISK Earned: 700,000,000.00
ISK Destroyed: 2,500,000,000.00
That was my second solo mission runner kill in my entire EVE career, I love this game.
Always betting on stupid,
Hianmar, a.k.a. TheEVEGamer
PS- I admit that 99% of this kill was luck. This could have gone very differently had he not shot, warped when he had the chance, logofski'd or killed my drake. But in the end it was worth it. Every stinking, ill-begotten penny of it.
PPS- I didn't post mails because these kills were done on one of my secret alts, well semi-secret. I don't want to reveal his name to the general public.

Why I Hate Drakes
This evening -whoops- morning, I engaged my first ever attempt at a solo mission runner ganking with my PvP Drake.
As it was my first time using the Orca-Hotswap technique, I decided to just go for it and see what happens. It looked like just a solo noob mission runner running a mission alone, with a noctis alt cleaning up after him.
The only problem was that my opponent was in a drake. Three drakes in fact, as he warped all three of his characters (I'm 99% sure they were his alts) in to aid him. Despite the fact that all the characters were about five months old or younger, they still could tank at their best 550 DPS, which is what my drake does. Then they popped my drones with their drones (which is weird because I thought I'd popped them all with my hawk) before starting to slowly eat through my 60k EHP buffer. At about 50% shields I knew that if I didn't get help, my drake would die. I didn't want to just stow my ship because I knew that if I did, I might have the problem of the ship popping due to damage mechanics. So I shouted in a ninja public channel for RR and I was promptly assisted.
However, by the time he actually warped in, I was in armor with my drake. Sadface! While I was busy getting RR, I had to reload, which meant I stopped firing. The three drakes took this to mean I was going to let them go (they had no points, I had one of them pointed). There was a little delay with the RR which thankfully was not a problem due to my previous statement.
When I finally got my RR on me, I re-engaged the newest character only to find that he had an equal tanking ability to all his fellows. This sucked.
Then they shot my RR friend in his osprey, so he warped out. Then their damage came back on me and I went into hull! I warped away -no points, remember?- and promptly bounced to my safe.
All of this was an hour full of standoffs, coordinated dual boxing warp-in's while shooting the drones of three drakes. The worst bit was I tanked all three of them better in my Hawk.
So if you ever wonder why I hate drakes from now on, that's why.

Switcheroo!
I switched up and repurposed my characters.
My Main is now my "Orca Alt", one of my carebear alts is now my Ninja alt, and tomorrow it is time to rape poor little mission runners.
Muhahahaha!
That is right. I am going to start the raping of the innocent. Nothing will stop me from unleashing a world of hurt upon carebears. They all must die.
I've fit up my Orca with new, small and deadly Caldari Ships (Hurray for small volumes) and it's time for rapage!
Beware carebears! I'm hunting you down starting in just a few short hours!

Herp Derp!
My new favorite phrase of the week.
This will be a quicky post since I don't have too much time, it's nearly 11 pm when I'm starting this so here goes.
I've gotten few to no kills this week cause I've been stubborn and lazy about getting out and about with kills. This'll probably change as I am thinking of doing a little switch-er-roo-ing with my alts, at least a temporary one. This means more gank and less spinny spinny in stations.
I need money, so new ways to make ill gotten gains are being schemed up as I sit here writing this. But they are top secret so mums the word until further notice.
My friend still hasn't sold any of his lottery tickets. See previous post for more details!
Oh gosh, 1 minute left...
I refit my Proteus for le pew pew, subsystem has been switched and a trip to Jita for a Centum A-Type Medium Armor Repair System may soon be made. Hurray for bling gank ships!!
Damn, that's time!
Fly recklessly while drunk,
Hianmar, a.k.a. TheEVEGamer
PS- I do not support drunk driving, but drunk gamers are stupid gamers and I always bet on stupid!

A Favor for a Friend
My friend has just started up a lottery business in EVE, which so far is going slowly. He has asked as many of his RL friends in EVE to purchase lottery tickets and to spread the word of his lottery, myself included. So here is the scoop:
The business is called Bodacious Lotteries LTD, and it would be greatly appreciated if you would purchase some tickets! The forum link can be found here.
The current prizes are as follows:
Grand Prize: Faction Battleship of Choice or 700 million ISK
2nd Prize: T3 + Subs of Choice or 400 million ISK
3rd Prize: Command Ship of Choice or 200 Million ISK
There are lot's of other prizes too, including 300 million for the last bump before he closes the lottery, as well as 200 million for the person who purchases the most tickets and an additional 150 million to any Grand, 2nd or 3rd prize winner should they do so with one ticket. That is to encourage both the little guy and the big guy.
You can track your ticket's on Bodacious Lotteries' SOMER Ticket Tracker page, just follow the link on the forum post. He will check in daily at about 00:00 EVE time to post ticket sale updates and possible lottery end times.
He also has the channel B-LOTTO if you have any questions or you had a problem with the ISK Transfer. You may also EVE Mail him.
Well, my duty to my friend is done. Anyway, I get 20% of the lottery profits so what do I have to complain about? Hopefully there will be some profits =/

Something New is Learned Every Day
Interesting Game Mechanics you may or may not know about:
#1 - If someone steals from you (IE- Takes from your Can, Wreck, etc.), you may warp scramble your Pod.
Doubt me?
Grab a friend with a neutral alt, get yourself fitted in a frigate and have him steal from you in a cheap ship. Then pop his ship, lock up his pod and scramble it.
Presto! Warp Scrambled pod in High Security Space!
NOTE: While you can scramble and shoot the pod after they have stolen from you, you cannot actually pod them. The mechanics are a little more convoluted and unclear if someone should pop the pod in question while you have them scrambled. We have tested the part where you can in fact scramble them and the part where you shoot them. However, popping them via a suicide gank alt has confused me. I have heard, or it has been suggested that if you do pop the pod via a suicide gank alt everyone on the mail gets a Global Criminal Countdown (GCC) and a visit from their local CONCORD Law Enforcement Squad.
#2 - You can repackage Tech 3's just like regular ships, without losing the subsystems!
I was unaware of this fact, and thought that subsystems were just like rigs. However, according to several corporation buddies of mine, it is entirely possible. They did it to move a few of their T3's in their freighter. However, you will lose the rigs.
That's what I learned this past weekend. I meant to put that in my earlier post.
Time to call it a night,

Nothing of Note
Damn... 10 PM on Sunday already?
My weekend was busy and eventful in real life, especially on Saturday. There was not that much time for EVE except for Friday night after practice and this afternoon.
I got a few more kills, but nothing truly juicy. Just a Noctis and a few T1 Ships.
What I find truly amazing about the Orca is the amount of loot that builds up in it's storage compartments. I mean, I keep four standard containers in the cargo hold for sorting loot ("Cheap Fittings", "T2 Fittings", "Ammo & Drones", and "Other") so it is relatively sorted. Yet still it never ceases to amaze me what I find in there. It's like a couch stuffed with dollar bills.
For example, last week some guy ejected from his executioner. I scooped it in my Orca, went back to station and repackaged it because it wasn't rigged. I then tossed it in my "Other" Can. Yesterday I went through that can because I had reprocessed some items and I found it. It was like a warn dollar bill that went through the wash. I will probably donate it to the corporation though for use in our various maniacal activities.
Other entertainment news (No I don't just play EVE, and I don't just play Video Games Either):
I finally got about to beating Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood this weekend. The ending is way too convoluted to be watched while playing EVE. I'm going to have to re-watch the final cutscene on YouTube, otherwise I'm going to be confused for a good while.
I need to get back into a good book. I'm probably going to read A Clear and Present Danger by Tom Clancy when I next get the chance, but for some reason I've been putting it off.
Well, That's All Folks!
